The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and gently take it away; 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
