Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ But those who do not believe that they are destined to meet Us are wont to say: "Why have no angels been sent down to us?" - or, "Why do we not see our Sustainer?" Indeed, they are far too proud of themselves, having rebelled [against God's truth] with utter disdain! 21 The day they see the angels there will be no happy tidings for the sinners; and they will say: "There is an insurmountable barrier!" 22 And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed. 23 The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place. 24 Upon the day that heaven is split asunder with the clouds and the angels are sent down in majesty, 25 and the Absolute kingdom will belong to the Beneficent God. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 Alas for me! Ah, would that I had never taken such an one for friend! 28 he made me forgetful of the warning after it had reached me. Satan is man's great betrayer." 29 The Messenger will say, "Lord, my people did indeed discard the Quran," 30 Thus have We made for every prophet an enemy among the sinners: but enough is thy Lord to guide and to help. 31 The disbelievers say, "Why has not the entire Qur'an been sent down to this man all at once?" -Well, this has been done to impress it deeply on your mind, and (for the same object) We have sent it down piecemeal by degrees. 32 And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. 33 Those who will be pushed faces forward into Hell will be in a worse position, farther away from the path. 34

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
