Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Is it that their faculties of understanding urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 [And] have they created the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no certainty of anything! 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or possess they the Unseen so that they can write (it) down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds. 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
