The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 that hide, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
