Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 And when the stars fall, scattering, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are laid open, 4 then a soul shall know its works, the former and the latter. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Who know what you do. 12 Most surely the righteous are in bliss, 13 And verily, the Fujjar (the wicked, disbelievers, sinners and evil-doers) will be in the blazing Fire (Hell), 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 And will not be absent thence. 16 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
