The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
