Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In a Garden on high, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 [And all who are thus blest will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer in return for all [the good deeds] that you have sent ahead in days gone by!" 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And not known my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth hath not availed me, 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which no one will eat except the sinners. 37
