The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 it is not a jest. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
