The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
