The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 the stars and the trees bend in prostration. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 and grain in the blade, and fragrant herbs. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
