Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
