The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
