The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 created the human from a (blood) clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 Have you seen the one who prohibits 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 and enjoins piety? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 his lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him call his associates; 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
