Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, 1 until you come to the graves. 2 But you will come to know soon; -- 3 Indeed you will come to know soon. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 you would see the fire of Hell. 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
