The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
