The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said, "My Lord is most knowing of what you do." 188 Then they belied him; wherefore there laid hold of them the torment of day of shadow. Verily it was the torment of a Mighty Day. 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
