Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
