Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the time comes for raising the little girls (buried alive) -- 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a known extent. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That will be the Day of Reckoning. Gathered will be (you) and the earlier (generations). 38 If now ye have any wit, outwit Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
