(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 he was one of Our believing worshipers. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?” 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 And when they had both submitted, and his son had laid down prostrate upon his forehead, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 Indeed, this was the clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. And of their seed are some who do good, and some who plainly wrong themselves. 113
