Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who acknowledge the glory of God, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 except him who shall roast in the Blazing Fire. 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 assuredly they shall be helped, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
