The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 That your endeavour is for different ends. 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 and from which the cautious shall be distanced. 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Almighty God's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
