The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide you to your Lord that you may come to fear Him.'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
