The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 Unto an Awful Day, 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 (they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
