The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
