The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 who has created and shaped, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 then turns it into black stubble. 5 We shall now make you read (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), so you will not forget. 6 Except what Allah, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. 7 And We will ease you toward ease. 8 REMIND, THEN, [others of the truth, regardless of] whether this reminding [would seem to] be of use [or not]: 9 He who fears (Allah) shall heed it, 10 And the most unfortunate one will avoid it, 11 He who will be flung to the great Fire 12 Then therein he shall neither live nor die. 13 Prosperous is he who has cleansed himself, 14 remembering his Lord's name and praying. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 While the hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This is what is written in the ancient heavenly Books, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
