The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
