And indeed We sent Nooh towards his people – he therefore said, “O my people! Worship Allah, you do not have any other God except Him; so do you not fear?” 23 But the chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he seeks to make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing among our fathers of old. 24 He is naught but a man bedevilled; so wait on him for a time. 25 Said [Noah]: "O my Sustainer! Succour me against their accusation of lying!" 26 So We asked him to build the ark under Our eyes and guidance, (and said): "When Our command is issued and the source of water boils over, put a pair of every species in it, and your family except those for whom Our sentence has been passed already; and do not speak to Me for those who are wicked: They will be drowned. 27 And when you have embarked on the ship, you and whoever is with you, then say: "All the praises and thanks be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who are Zalimun (i.e. oppressors, wrong-doers, polytheists, those who join others in worship with Allah, etc.). 28 And say, 'My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].' " 29 Verily in this there are Signs (for men to understand); (thus) do We try (men). 30 Then, after them, We created another generation. 31 and We sent to them a Messenger from themselves, saying: 'Worship Allah, for you have no god except He. Will you not be cautious' 32
