Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
