Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
