The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
