The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
