Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant 6 Which shall neither nourish nor avail against hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 And arranged carpets. 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
