'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 and my tongue fluent 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 by him confirm my strength, 31 And let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 (Allah) said: "Granted is thy prayer, O Moses!" 36 We had already shown you favor 37 when We revealed Our will to your mother, saying, 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 I have chosen you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 He (Pharaoh) asked: 'How was it then, with the former generations' 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 You eat and let your cattle graze' Surely, in this there are signs for those of understanding. 54
