۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 “And stop them – they are to be questioned.” 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And some of them draw near unto others, mutually questioning. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 So we led you astray; we ourselves were strayed.” 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 But it will be no more than the retribution of (the Evil) that ye have wrought;- 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 Then they will advance unto each other, mutually questioning. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell; 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
