The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 has created man, 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
