The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 When the oceans boil over with a swell; 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
