EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say: "He himself has composed this [message]"? Nay, but they are not willing to believe! 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 and extol His glory at night, and at the time when the stars retreat. 49
