The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He has created man: 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
