The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
