The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the sky with its constellations, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 That accursed are the men of the trench 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 They sat by it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 and the One to whom belongs the heavens and the earth. God is the Witness of all things. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
