The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
