The Poets (Alshu'araa')
227 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 These are verses of the clear Book. 2 It may be that you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not believe. 3 If We list, We can send down unto them a sign from the heaven so that their necks would become to it submissive. 4 Whenever there comes to them any fresh warning from the Merciful, they always turn their backs on it: 5 they have indeed rejected the message. But the truth of what they laughed to scorn will dawn upon them before long. 6 Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein? 7 Verily, in this is an Ayah (proof or sign), yet most of them (polytheists, pagans, etc., who do not believe in Resurrection) are not believers. 8 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 9
