He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what could let you know? Perhaps he (comes to hear you) to be purified. 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 You pay full attention, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 exalted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 Then, when He will, He bringeth him again to life. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that Day shall be beaming with happiness, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
