The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
