And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 80 for he was truly one of our believing servants: 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve? 85 Is it a falsehood-god beside Allah that ye desire? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they designed a snare for him, but We made them the undermost. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him, he said: "O my son! I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice: Now see what is thy view!" (The son) said: "O my father! Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Allah so wills one practising Patience and Constancy!" 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 And We called out to him: "O Abraham! 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 Then We ransomed him with a tremendous victim. 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
