But nay! I swear by that which you see, 38 and by that you do not see, 39 most surely, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 40 And not the word of a poet. How little is it that you believe! 41 Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember! 42 (It is) a sending down from the Lord of all the Worlds. 43 Had he invented sayings against Us, 44 We would certainly have seized him by the right hand, 45 and then severed his life vein; 46 Nor could any of you withhold him (from Our wrath). 47 And most surely it is a reminder for those who guard (against evil). 48 but We know that some of you will cry lies. 49 And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers. 50 it is the indubitable truth. 51 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 52
