Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we gave the lie to the Day of Judgement 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
