The People of the Woods denied the Noble Messengers. 176 What time Shu'aib said unto them: fear ye not? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And do not withhold from people what belongs to them, and do not corrupt the land; 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
