The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 Those who in their prayer are lowly. 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 who observe Zakah; 4 And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts) 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are the heirs 10 Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat; 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
