And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 at the hands of Pharaoh: he was a tyrant who exceeded all bounds. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And granted them signs in which there was a plain trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We did not create them except with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Save those on whom Allah shall have mercy; surely He is the Mighty the Merciful. 42
